Longest Night Service

Date: Dec 21, 2018 07:30:00 PM to 08:00:00 PM

This is a service of hope, healing and remembrance, seeking to support those for whom the holiday season may be difficult or painful."The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it."

For many people, the Advent-Christmas season is not a joyful time, but rather a painful one.  For those who have experienced the loss of a loved one, they may feel particularly saddened or disconnected in the midst of the holiday festivities.

For others, the season brings to mind the broken and unreconciled places of the heart.

In the midst of celebrations, obligations and commitments, it can be difficult to find a holy space to rest our burdens.   And so, as we gather on the longest night of the year, the Winter Solstice, Holy Trinity will offer a contemplative liturgy of hope, healing and remembrance.

You are invited to bring meaningful objects, pictures or mementos of loved ones who have died to place on the altar as an act of prayer. Candles will be lit as a sign of hope, and all are welcome.
